Neighborhood
The McDonald district is the prestigious residential area of traditional downtown Santa Rosa, with a variety of architectural styles and many unique homes. It is a wonderful neighborhood to just stroll around and enjoy the homes and gardens. Within a few minutes walk, you have several restaurants, (including Bird and the Bottle and Bruno's), coffee shops, a high-end donut shop and our favorite Santa Rosa breakfast cafe (Dierk's Midtown Cafe). Just a few extra minutes on foot is the upscale, locally owned grocery store Pacific Market and Willi's Wine Bar. Downtown and attractions such as the Russian River Brewery and the Luther Burbank Gardens are just a 15 minute walk away, or 5 minute drive. Access to Highway 12 and the Sonoma Valley wine corridor is literally round the corner; within 15-20 minutes you can be tasting at some of our world class wineries. All that Healdsburg and the Russian River recreation area have to offer is just a short drive away north on the 101. Your hosts are keen cyclists and hikers, and know and love the many routes and trails Sonoma County has to offer. Santa Rosa is increasing its bike paths, and just a few minutes cycle straight from this home, you can find amazing road and mountain bike routes that will take you to some of the best landscapes of Sonoma County. For the hikers, Annadel State Park or one of the many regional parks in the area (such as Spring Lake Park) is easily accessible with less than a 10 minute drive. Please note that this home is located in a family friendly, residential neighborhood. While we want you to enjoy your time, loud music outside or other disturbances to our lovely neighbors after 10pm is prohibited.
