Elegant vacation rentals in Mendocino & Sonoma County

What a lovely house! We stayed at Jo’s place for 3 days for our vacation to Mendocino. The house is well maintained and looks exactly like the photos posted except for one thing: a deer family came to the house every day as they want to eat apples from apple trees in the backyard! 😀 Location-wise, it’s perfectly located between Mendocino and Fort Bragg, taking maximum 15 mins to anywhere you go in those two cities. I’d definitely come back for our next trip to Mendocino!

This is our third stay at Jo's beautiful farmhouse, and yet again, it was absolutely perfect! The home is exactly as pictured and as we remember it. It has everything we need, and is close to all the restaurants and shops we enjoy visiting. This time, it was really nice to use the kitchen to cook some meals and eat outside in the warm sun! Jo is such a lovely host, promptly answering any questions we had, but otherwise leaving us to enjoy the home and apple orchard in peace. We really love our yearly getaway to Fort Bragg, and this farmhouse really feels like home when we are there. We love it and hope to come back year after year! Thank-you, Jo!

I would come again everyday of the week if I could. Outstanding home. Every detail was seen to. Unbelievably clean. Truly spotless! Kitchen was perfection with every small appliance, tool, or gadget you could want or need. The beds were wonderful, best night of sleep ever! The towels are scrumptious, thick, and perfect! The yard is stunning, every window has a view of it, and I could spend all day out there. And the lighting out there is magical. The decor inside the house is magnificent and looks like something you would see in an architectural magazine. The sofas were amazing, the piano perfect, and the bonus room off the kitchen was perfect for family gatherings, or a good book, or tv watching. I loved the sofa there with the center table which housed blanket throws, tv trays, and games! The hosts are outstanding. Great communication, on top of everything, saw to every small detail, they go out of their way to be helpful and kind. It was and is such a pleasure to deal with them.

Homestead Mendocino is by far the ONLY choice when staying in the Mendocino/Ft. Bragg area. I originally was looking at hotel options for my family, but am SO incredibly glad I found Homestead Mendocino. Not only is the cottage so adorably decorated and extremely clean, but the outdoor space and location make it a standout choice. It is 10-minutes or less to downtown Mendocino as well as Ft. Bragg. Every morning and dusk we were visited by deer in the picturesque backyard. You will NOT be disappointed, and I look forward to my next stay at Homestead Mendocino.

Great spot with an ideal layout for a toddler who sleeps lightly -- the second bedroom doesn't share any walls with the bathroom or primary bedroom. Yay for being able to stay up later without disturbing the kiddo. We enjoyed walking the trails (manageable with a stroller) and much to our toddler's delight, even saw some deer and jackrabbits.

Such a wonderful home! Perfect size, all the amenities one could ask for, peaceful area and beautiful street. We keep coming back for those reasons and the host, Jo is amazing.

We had a wonderful stay here! A beautiful and very comfortable home that was very stylish and easy to relax in. It was also just a short drive to lots of fun things to do. The kids loved running around the big fenced yard while we enjoyed the back patio. We would definitely stay here again!

Plenty of space for three adults and an Aussie Sheppard in this cozy cottage located along the California coast between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Responsive communication, accurate directions, and a personal welcome made check-in a breeze. Both bedrooms had plenty of storage space, extremely comfortable beds, and lots of natural light with views of the surrounding gardens and coastal woodlands. The well-stocked kitchen made food storage and meal prep easy. A large picnic table, fire pit, and several other outdoor seating areas were perfect for having meals outside while playing in the back yard with our dog and watching a pair of nesting Osprey. A oversized loveseat, table for three, and access to wifi made evenings inside enjoyable. Jo and Ed were excellent hosts, responsive to our needs, and provided helpful local recommendations...the Botanical Gardens which we would have otherwise skipped was a perfect end to our visit! Highly recommend booking a stay in this cozy cottage.

This home is amazing and the yard is even more amazing! The house was bright, cozy, clean and had everything you would want. The location was conveniently located for great food and excursions. Jo was an absolutely fabulous host. She was super prompt in responding to my questions and is just a lovely person. Definitely recommend this property for your Fort Bragg adventure!

We had a fantastic time at Jo's place - it's even nicer than in the photos! The home itself, the location, and all the details were better than expected. The kitchen had the same pans we use to cook with at home, which is to say they're the nicest pans I've ever had at a rental home. Jo was an excellent communicator and helped us with a flexible check-in to accommodate my toddler's nap needs. She was responsive and understanding. It made a huge difference in our day and helped our vacation get off to a great start.
